How it all began
Decision Tech kicked off on a sofa in East London back in 2005. Three guys, a few ancient laptops, enough cash for the business to survive for three months, and a big dose of ambition.
The philosophy of the business? To work with cool people, in a company we all loved being part of. To be a fast paced business, able to make quick decisions, and without getting bogged down by excessive process. To use technology to build products, and content that would connect customers with the right products and services.
So we got to work
Our first venture was to bring customer choice to the UK home broadband market. Back then, for customers, it was pretty much a matter of taking whatever package was offered by whoever supplied their TV or phone line with no easy way to find out if there was a cheaper, or better deal to be had. By month two we were profitable.
Hot on its heels our white label went live with Confused.com. Our platform is now used by over 40 other brands.
We attained our first significant investment from venture capital fund, Genesis Investments.
We gained our Ofcom accreditation – the first company in our industry to achieve the Ofcom stamp of approval.
Time to find a new office – more and more people started to flex their mouse finger when it came to comparing services, and our team of two became five, then ten, and now 45.
Decision Tech is listed in the Tech Track 100 – the 100 fastest growing tech businesses in the UK.
broadbandchoices.co.uk launches its first TV ad campaign.
We expanded into new territory, bringing our successful comparison model to the Spanish and German markets.
Following a £5million investment from the Business Growth Fund in 2012, we bought mobile business, TRG Online Ltd, so we could offer customers a complete home comms and entertainment service.
The new brand positioning Are You Missing Out? launches on TV.
Contract signed selling our Spanish platform, Comparaiso. It held the #1 market share position in Spain for several years and we felt that its continued growth required a local presence. This could be provided by new owners, Selectra Comparison Group, freeing Decision Tech to refocus on our primary objectives…like building cool new products and brands.
New partnership deal signed with Gocompare.com providing the platform for their home comms and mobile comparison service.
In September we completed the purchase of Sellmymobile.com – a phone recycling comparison site – adding a new product and brand to our portfolio.
In December 2016 we signed on the dotted line to buy a second mobile recycling comparison site – Comparemymobile.com – making Decision Tech the UK’s most used mobile price comparison service.
New partnership deal signed with Confused.com providing the platform for their mobile comparison service and continuing our successful 11 year partnership.
In September we completed the purchase of mobilephonechecker.co.uk – a mobile phone comparison site. This deal is our third business acquisition in the last 12 months and further strengthens our portfolio in the mobile phone comparison space
As part of our company strategy, this year we closed the last of our European brands, Schlaubi.de, in order to focus on the development and continued expansion of our UK businesses
We are delighted to announce the launch of Fullsight, our new sales and data SaaS product for the affiliate industry
